A hotel always on the move – Zonar Zagreb

The Zonar Zagreb Hotel is a new hub of the Zagreb urban scene. The hotel is part of the Maistra City Vibes hotel brand designed for a truly relaxing city break in Zagreb, integrating the fast-paced Central European business mentality with the laid-back Mediterranean lifestyle.

In addition to 285 rooms and suites, the hotel has two restaurants, a bar, a deli shop, a rooftop swimming pool with a panoramic view of Zagreb, a gym, and nine multifunctional meeting rooms. The hotel facilities offer opportunities for socializing, business meetings, fun and special foodie experiences. The hotel guests can unwind, and refuel in the regeneration zone inspired by the Downtown Athletic Club in New York.

The Zonar Zagreb Hotel’s identity was designed by Bruketa&Žinić&Grey Agency and inspired by perpetual motion as the brand concept. The hotel’s visual identity is modular, moving and changing through four iterations. The logotype is vertically aligned to evoke the skyscraper with the tallest hotel in Zagreb. The arrows from the outer flank of the hotel form an additional graphical element of the identity. The photo art direction applies the motion blur technique to intensify the movement effect.

Besides black and white, the identity also includes blue and pink color gradients from the Maistra City Vibes brand of urban hotels. The colors evoke the urban sunset color palette. The Typonine Sans Pro typography mimics the typography of the umbrella Maistra brand.

The catering facilities inside the hotel are given their own verbal identity by Bruketa&Žinić&Grey Agency, and form separate parts of the hotel’s identity.

The Skin2Skin Hotel Bar is located on the ground floor of the hotel. The centerpiece of this bar’ logo is a descent to the ground floor.

The name of the Cherry Pop Bar was inspired by the bar’s rooftop location, in the part of Zagreb known as Trešnjevka (trešnja in Croatian = cherry). The bar is located next to the swimming pool and is open only during warm summer months, which is why its logo is summer colored and features a playful illustration.
