Success of the Croatian car brand

Interview with Monika Mikac of Rimac Automobili

Rimac Automobili is a company owned by the young innovator Mate Rimac, the producer of the Croatian electric super sports car Concept One, working with the agency since 2009. To get an opportunity to cooperate with the car industry in this region is rare. The Rimac story has recently appeared on CNN which prompted us to talk to Monika Mikac from the Rimac Automobili marketing.

 

Which were the tasks and expectations you entrusted the agency with?

We needed logo and company visual identity design. We wanted a logo that would fit a luxury super sports car brand in the league of Bugatti, Pagani, Koenigsegg. We were looking for something simple, yet striking enough and definitely sophisticated. The visual identity should convey luxury but also power and strength of the car and of the company. As we make the most powerful electric car, visual identity should also be powerful and recognizable.

Are there any specific challenges that should be taken into account when creating a visual identity for the car industry?

It had to be made sure that the logo could be integrated into the car design and correspond to it perfectly.

How satisfied are you with the solutions and do you have any feedback from the market or car fairs on visual identity specifically?

People mostly liked the business cards that we distribute to our clients. They really liked the simplicity, design and high production quality. We have also received positive feedback on the logo, which often reminds people of superheroes.

CNN recently aired a story on Concept One. Are you satisfied with product development and orders? Where is the car sold?

We are very satisfied with business development. Considering that we still do not have an investor and are self-financed from our own work, I think this is a great success. We may not be developing as fast as we would like to, but we are definitely moving forward. Our business does not only include car sales. We also offer engineering services for other companies in the car industry and this is currently our most profitable business segment. It should also be said that we sell electric bicycles. Of course, we do have orders for the car itself. We cannot reveal our clients but none of them are from Croatia.
