Brigada to increase focus on product design
Awarded product designer Vlatka Leskovar joined Brigada recently. She gained a Master’s Degree in Industrial Design and has been working on product, graphic and interior design projects since, with a special interest in design that motivates active user experience.
Already as a student she was noticed among professionals with her concept (De)materialized Memory: Mlinci (mlinci is traditional Croatian dough dish). It’s a rolling-pin designed as a semi-manufactured product gaining its full meaning when a person giving it as a souvenir actively engages in sharing their personal experience and skills as part of a complete tourist experience.
With this concept she has participated in Hungry Designers project, part of Croatian Designers Society Design Tourism platform. The same piece has been selected by the Ghost project jury for Social Innovations international exhibition during the latest Mikser Festival in Belgrade. Leskovar won her first award in the Young Designer category at Era Group’s Kvrga competition for GEMMA furniture design.
“Vlatka has strengthened our product design team significantly.”, said Brigada’s CEO and Creative Director Damjan Geber adding: “A thorough deliberation of spatial concepts is very important to us, so designing furniture and all other elements placed inside an architecturally designed space is a key element of the process. Besides unique architecture every unique space also deserves unique furniture, lighting and other accessories.” said Geber.
Apart from working on specific projects, Brigada will now be able to focus on designing furniture and other complementary products as one of the key segments of the agency’s development in 2015.
Brigada is part of Bruketa&Žinić OM group of agencies specializing in spatial concepts, product design and architecture. By combining knowledge in architecture, design and marketing Brigada has created numerous effective retail, office and exhibition spaces winning also two prestigious Red Dot awards.
