CRTA – visual identity created with the help of artificial intelligence


The CRTA is a Regional Centre of Excellence for Robotic Technology which is planned to open within the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture at the Zagreb University. The word crta means line in Croatian.

The visual identity came out as a result of an experimental attempt to navigate AI through the process of learning. Students wrote out the name of the institution in their own handwriting, which was used as an input for AI.

The processing of such information led to different visual data that served as a basis for visual identity. The basic constituent parts are points, a line and a plane, which apart from a reference to a mathematical definition of a notion of line (crta), may also be interpreted as a process of education for all users of the Centre.
