This year Red Dot, one of the largest and most prestigious international distinctions of design, has awarded two projects designed by Bruketa&Žinić&Grey agency.
The awards were given for KentBank’s rebranding and DNNA home fragrance packaging by tennis player Donna Vekić, respectively. Both projects were awarded in the “Brands and Communication Design” category.
KentBank, the fastest growing bank in Croatia, is focused on SMEs, i.e. ambitious individuals. Its mission is connecting people, ideas and resources to create a successful community. This client-focused bank strives to recover human contact in the new, fast-paced digitized world. For that reason, the KentBank’s visual identity is based on the hexagon symbol i.e. a six-sided polygon – a universal symbol of connectivity. Besides its omnipresence in nature and culture, the hexagon is also often found in Islamic art, which establishes a link between the visual identity and KentBank’s Turkish owner, Süzer Group.
DNNA is a home fragrance brand created by tennis player Donna Vekić, given that fragrances, besides tennis, are her second passion. Scented candles are Donna’s way of coping with the challenges off the court, which gave her an idea to launch a line of fragrances with her own signature. These fragrances can rightfully be said to emanate from Donna’s DNA, which led to the name the brand – DNNA. The packaging is evocative of tennis – a steel globe can also serve as a candle snuffer. The highest quality Murano glass vessels are handmade, blown, heated, cooled and personalized.
Besides Red Dot, up to now DNNA has also won the second place in design at 2022 Dieline Awards, the world’s leading packaging design competition.
Red Dot Award has 67 years of history, and is the most sought-after international seal of quality for good design. To date Bruketa&Žinić&Grey Agency has won 26 Red Dot Awards, the largest number of awards in the region, which is why Davor Bruketa was one of Red Dot jurors a few years ago.
This year’s official Red Dot Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on 28 October in Berlin.
