Mr. Alojz – Zagreb’s everywhere-guy for Advent

Zagreb Be There mobile app’s new content

The mobile application “Zagreb Be There” now offers new Advent-related content, and the main star is Mr. Alojz, the friendly spirit of Zagreb Christmas. With the help of the app, in a special new route known as Foodie Zagreb, Alojz shows Zagreb’s visitors where to have the best traditional holiday food.

On top of that, he attends events, hangs out with people, knows where the best parties are, and keeps track of all of his adventures which he then shares on social media. That is why he has taken over the Instagram account of the Zagreb Tourist Board for the entire duration of the Advent period. Alojz is always in the right place to be during Advent in Zagreb.

Another new route offered by the app is Christmas Heritage which introduces visitors to the traditions of celebrating Christmas in Zagreb. This route includes many sacral locations such as the Cathedral and the Chapel of St. Dismas, as well as events such as Christmas in old Zagreb, the Festival of Christmas Cakes and Cookies, and the exhibit – Advent in the Croatian Home.

Same as last year, the Advent Zagreb route takes the visitors through interesting Advent locations in the city – the Ice Park, Advent at Zrinjevac, “Fuliranje”, and others. As before, app users can win a prize if they register with their smartphones at every route location, and the prize is a Zagreb Be There mug.

The application is free and available on Android and iPhone devices, and can be downloaded from the microsite betherezagreb.com.
