It’s Handball World Championship time again, met with almost equal joy in Croatia as the FIFA World Cup. The only difference being the expectations are much higher. Tele2 is again the sponsor, but this time with a different task for the agency. The brief literally said – we want something different.
Since the Championship is held in Qatar, a rich desert oasis, the agency’s task was to somehow put Qatar, handball and the Croatian team together.
The old Talk to us! concept has retired so this campaign was based upon a completely new insight saying – everyone in the world has their double. The reason is simple – the new Tele2 offer gives double of everything for each tariff. By coincidence Croatian two most famous handball players Duvnjak and Vori have their doubles in Qatar :) If this is not enough, that two Qataries instantly became the Croatian team’s biggest fans, we don’t know what is.
The main TV ad tells a story how the Qatarian doubles found out about their Croatian origin. In the follow-up TV ad we see them cheering during a game among the other Croatian fans. Print ads show the meeting of the doubles from the Arabian and Balkan Peninsula.
Copy: Everyone in the world has their double. Double the minutes, SMS and data for 2 years!
While expecting the results of this Championship, it’s good to know we have a small but daring support in Qatar.
