Epica is an international advertising competition which has a special meaning for the agencies apart from Cannes Lions, because the jury members are the editors and journalists of the advertising magazines from across the world.
This kind of jury ensures its professionalism and impartiality, since it is the only competition without the agencies’ employees that are competing them selves. In 2010 the jury was consisted of journalists from 34 professional magazines and 27 countries such as the German Lürzer’s International Archive, the British Creative Review or Marketing Week.
The Epica Awards have been held for 20 years, while the awards ceremony moves to a different city each year. Starting as an European competition, today the it is open for agencies from Middle East and Africa as well. The last competition had over 3155 entries and 530 agencies from 48 countries.
In January 2011 Epica Conference and the Awards Ceremony were for the first time held in Croatia, in Zagreb’s Museum of Contemporary Art. On this occasion, we were awarded as the most successful Croatian agency at this competition for the past decade (2000-2010), thanks to the fact we were the only ones from Croatia to ever win the Epica Gold, and were the most awarded in Croatia in general. In 2007 we were awarded Gold and Bronze, and in 2010. Silver.
